In the 1900s many Italian immigrated to North Bay, Ontario, Canada in search of a better life, opportunity and to reunite with family. These are their stories.

I Nostri Viaggi - Our Journeys

In conjunction with the City of North Bay’s 100 anniversary in 2025, the Davedi Club celebrated our Italian heritage the weekend of April 4th and 5th 2025. Our committee reached out to the Italian community requesting stories on first family members who immigrated to North Bay. The response was fantastic, the stories contained in our kiosk provide a glimpse of our past. Our plan in the future is to get stories on their children born in North Bay and eventually their children’s children.

The Italian community has contributed greatly to the Economic and Population growth to the city of the past 100 years. We are celebrating the ones that came before us, they left the homeland for a better life, settled in North Bay, instilled family values and worked hard to pave the way for the rest of us.

This kiosk is a glimpse to our past, people can go in and SEARCH names, towns, years etc., and will be provided links to stories. Navigate the FAMILIES directory and a specific story. READ their stories or LISTEN to them read out loud. EXPLORE media, photos and videos. LANGUAGE TRANSLATION; with a quick tap you can switch between ENGLISH and ITALIAN. FEATURED family stories will rotate giving viewers the opportunity to dive into a story with a single tap.
